The present survey has not only revealed the existence of individual differences among hospitals and highlighted problems related to the food service, but also clearly showed the problems posed by the present Japanese health insurance system per se. We discuss here the above findings and related problems by classifying them into the following three items: l) measures taken to serve delicious hospital meals, 2) positioning of the workers in charge of providing meals in hospitals, 3) the issue of hospital meal payment at the patient's own expense. There has been an increasing level of opinion expressed urging physicians and medical students to be more knowledgeable and perceptive in the field of Nutrition, and this combined with empirical findings pointing to the importance of meals in medical care indicates the need to reconsider the positioning of nutrition in the sphere of medical education.}, pages = {11--16}, title = {病院給食の実態 : 6病院の調査を通して}, volume = {11}, year = {1994} }
